Reconstitution Protocol
- Prepare: Clean your work surface and ensure all materials (vial, BAC water, syringes) are handled in a sterile manner.
- Calculate: Determine the desired concentration by dividing the peptide mass (mg) by the volume of BAC water added (mL). For example, adding 2 mL of BAC water to a 5 mg vial yields a concentration of 2.5 mg/mL.
- Reconstitute: Using a sterile syringe, draw the calculated volume of BAC water. Insert the needle through the rubber stopper at an angle and slowly inject the solvent down the inner wall of the vial — avoid directing the stream directly onto the powder to prevent foaming.
- Dissolve: Gently swirl the vial (do not shake) until the powder is fully dissolved. Most peptides dissolve within 1-2 minutes. A clear, colorless solution indicates complete dissolution.
- Aliquot: For long-term use, transfer the reconstituted solution into sterile aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the original vial.
